This identity was created to give unity to a large urban regeneration programme. The idea was to reflect the multi-cultural nature of the population in Ruislip, Hayes and Uxbridge.

The programme entitled "Delivering Services for the 21st Century" encompassed the upgrading and renewal of facilities such as Libraries, Arts & Information Services, Adult Education Youth & Leisure Services.
